These are Smith Refrigeration's current labour and vehicle/service-call rates. Parts, materials and applicable taxes are additional.

Before You Book a Service Call
What does a standard service call cost?
Standard labour is $90 per hour plus a $30 vehicle/service-call charge for locations within 25 km of Penticton. Parts, materials and GST are additional.
Do you charge more outside Penticton?
The standard $30 vehicle/service-call charge applies within 25 km of Penticton. Beyond 25 km, an additional $10 travel charge applies, making the vehicle/travel charge $40.
What are your weekend and after-hours rates?
Weekend labour is billed at 1.5× the standard rate, currently $135 per hour. After-hours labour is billed at 2× the standard rate, currently $180 per hour.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. 24/7 emergency refrigeration and HVAC service is available. If your call cannot be answered immediately, leave your business name, location, equipment type and a brief description of the problem.
What equipment do you service?
Smith Refrigeration services commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment including walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, prep tables, display refrigeration, ice machines and rooftop HVAC equipment.
Do you work on residential HVAC?
Yes. Residential HVAC service and maintenance are available. Smith Refrigeration is currently focused on service and maintenance rather than advertising residential equipment replacement or rebate-eligible installations.
Do you provide preventative maintenance?
Yes. Preventative maintenance is available for commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The maintenance scope is matched to the equipment and may include inspection, cleaning, operating measurements, photos and documented recommendations.
What qualifications does Smith Refrigeration have?
Smith Refrigeration is owner-operated by a Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic and holds a Gas B certificate and gas contractor licence. The business carries $5 million in liability insurance and is bonded.
How can I pay?
Payment is accepted by cheque or e-transfer. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice unless alternate payment terms have been agreed to in advance. Credit card payment is not currently available.
What area do you serve?
Smith Refrigeration is based in Penticton and serves customers throughout the South Okanagan. Travel charges may apply outside the standard 25 km service radius.
